Accountant job description The financial accountant will be required to perform the following tasks: • Participate in the early stages for setting up the accounting software and the preparation of a chart of accounts to match the industry requirements. • Maintain the production/costing cycle to ensure accurate recording of material and man/hour daily and in accordance with the production worksheets. • Work closely with the implementation partner to be trained as a super user of the accounting software system • Enter daily transactions to the system to ensure correctness and completeness of all transactions in a timely manner • Reconcile all accounts payable and accounts receivable sub ledger with the respective vendors and clients and make the necessary adjusting entries to confirm balances. • Reconcile bank statement monthly and enter the adjusting entries in a timely fashion • Maintain the inventory control system and reconcile the sub ledger with the G/L monthly & maintain inventory perpetual system to be reconciled with the physical count on a monthly basis. • Process all expenses & accruals in accordance with the authority matrix and match the invoice with PO and receiving note • Process payroll entries including deductions as per Egyptian labor law and withholding tax rules • Maintain tax entries including VAT clearing account in constant manner and report to the authorities as per the reporting requirements in collaboration with the auditors • Process all sale and invoicing transactions in accordance to the revenue recognition standard • Perform monthly closing procedures and prepare the financial reports in timely manners to highlight revenue, gross margin, net margin and changes on the financial position to be explained to the management team. • Manage cost allocation and analyze cost accounting data and mange cycle count of physical inventories • Prepare all reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules and others as required by the auditors • Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regard to cost analyses and profitability • Mange the export documentation cycle with banks and clients to ensure the elimination of any ambiguities • Manage human resources related affairs all administrative tasks that lead to financial obligations. • Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ARE: • Bachelor' s degree in Accounting/Finance • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through educational excellence and prior training • Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Cost Accounting Standards • Must be able to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis • Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data • Good written, verbal communication and collaborative skills • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products • Ability to analyze and reconcile complex accounts and reserves strong organizational and communicational skills • Detail oriented • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
