New Alamein City is one of the fourth generation cities, and its distinctive location will make it Egypt's gateway to Africa, as it is witnessing an unprecedented rate of projects, and has attracted a number of international companies to invest in it.
The city of El Alamein will change the map of the entire northern coast and the concept on which it was established. It will be a residential city that attracts citizens throughout the year, not just the summer season as is usual.
The new city of El Alamein has a total area of 48 thousand acres and is planned to accommodate more than 3 million people. The first phase consists of two main sectors with an area of about 8 thousand acres: the coastal sector, which includes the international tourist center sector, and the archaeological and urban sectors.
The coastal sector of the city consists of several areas: the Lake El Alamein area (hotel district), the city center, the distinguished residential district, the El Alamein Gardens district, the Fanara marina and the conference center, (a private resort), the entertainment district, the cultural center, tourist housing, and the Masaken district. The lake and the fairgrounds area, while the hotels area will be similar to the Dubai Towers, and celebrations will be held there on special occasions.
The value of investments in the city amounts to tens of billions, the total area of hotels is 296 acres, and the number of hotel rooms is 15,500 rooms.
It contains the International Medical Center for recovery and physical therapy on an area of approximately 45 acres. It covers more than 400 acres of the first phase and includes commercial centers, sales outlets, exhibitions, amusement parks, a cinema and theater complex, sports clubs, and administrative services.
A water desalination plant with a capacity of 150 thousand cubic meters per day, powered by solar energy, is also being implemented in New Alamein City.
Regarding social housing projects, the city has 10,000 social housing units.
A high-speed electrified train with a speed of up to 250 km/hour will be implemented to connect the 6th of October City to the city of El Alamein, with a length of about 221 km, parallel to the Wadi El Natroun/Alamein road, and a branch to the city of Alexandria, passing through the city and airport of Borg El Arab, with a length of 99 km, and also to connect the 6th of October City with the city of El Alamein, with a length of about 244 km. km, passing through the city of Burj Al Arab and branching out to the city of Alexandria, with a length of about 46 km).
